Residential Sitework In Western Pennsylvania

Successful construction projects start with proper site preparation. At Scott Martin Homes, we provide residential excavation services throughout Butler, Allegheny, Beaver, Armstrong, and Lawrence county with a focus on organization, efficiency, and quality workmanship from the ground up.

Residential Sitework Services

Excavation

Excavation sets the stage for everything that follows, from foundation footers to underground utilities. Using Topcon total stations, we hold tight cut and fill tolerances from layout to final grade, so foundation crews can move forward with confidence.

Grading And Land Clearing

Every cut and fill is planned before the first bucket of dirt moves, so material doesn't get pushed twice. We clear and grade each site to the elevations your project requires using CutRight™, our in-house cut and fill method. We move dirt with intention the first time, never correcting it the second.

Utility Work

We install and tie in water, sewer, and storm utilities as part of our sitework scope, coordinating trench depths and elevations with the rest of the site plan. Precise layout up front means fewer conflicts underground and utility runs that tie in clean the first time.

Hauling

We haul material in-house rather than relying on outside trucking, so nothing sits waiting on a subcontractor's schedule. From excess dirt and debris to stone for driveways and foundation backfill, material moves on our timeline, not someone else's.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Equipment Do You Run?

We run a full fleet built for every phase of sitework, from excavation and grading to compaction and hauling.

Excavation & Grading - Cat 312C, Cat 304, Cat D4G dozer, Cat 259D3

Compaction - Bomag single drum roller

Material Handling - JCB telehandler

Hauling - Peterbilt tri-axle dump truck, trailers

How Do You Price Sitework?

We price by the job rather than by the hour or the yard, so there's no ambiguity once work starts. After walking the site and understanding the full scope: grading, excavation, utility work, and mobility, we put together a fixed price so you know the number going in, not a running estimate that shifts as work progresses.

What Is Your Typical Turnaround Time For A Sitework Project?

For most residential projects, you're looking at 1-2 weeks of sitework. Larger jobs involving significant land clearing or grading can take longer, so we'll walk the site and give you a specific timeline before work begins.

Do You Work Off Of Engineered Plans Or Handle That In-House?

Not always. While we're happy to work from engineered plans when they're provided, most of our residential sitework is calculated using our own in-house cut and fill method, CutRight™ by Scott Martin Homes. It allows us to determine accurate elevations and material quantities on-site using our Topcon total stations, without waiting on outside engineering to move a project forward.

What Areas Do You Provide Sitework Services In?

Based in Butler County, we provide sitework services throughout Butler, Allegheny, Beaver, Armstrong, and Lawrence county. If you're unsure whether your project is within our service area, we still encourage you to reach out.
