A Father And Son Team Building Custom Homes

Growing up in a family home-building business, I learned at a young age what a custom built home truly means to a customer. Working alongside homeowners from the design phase through construction and sometimes even having them help build their own home, is the kind of personal touch only a family custom home builder can offer. We spend so much time listening to and working with our customers that many of them become part of our extended family.

I began my career in commercial construction before returning to my roots in residential building. After working for two volume home builders in eastern and western Pennsylvania as a construction superintendent and construction manager, I saw firsthand how the personal touches customers deserve often get lost in the building process. That experience reinforced my belief that building a home should always be personal.

In 2000, I founded Scott Martin Homes to bring the values I was taught growing up into every home we build. My son Andrew now carries those same values, and together we continue to evolve the company with thoughtful designs, a dedicated focus on the customer, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Our belief remains simple: most people build only one home in their lifetime, and they deserve a true custom home built with exceptional craftsmanship and the personal attention only a father-and-son custom home builder can provide.

I grew up in an entrepreneurial household where every day brought a new lesson and a new opportunity to learn. From an early age, I was taught that nothing is owed to you and everything is earned, and I saw that mindset lived out through my dad and the business he built. Some of my earliest memories are from spending summers alongside him on job sites, where I began to understand the value of hard work, taking pride in what you do, and earning the trust of the people you work for.

With that mindset, I pursued a formal education at Penn State University in State College, where I spent four years studying Supply Chain and Informations Systems. When I left home for college, I knew I wanted to experience life on my own, build my own path, and see what I could accomplish away from the business I had grown up around. However, it took me two and a half years to realize what an opportunity I had waiting for me back home.

Coming back to Scott Martin Homes at the start of 2026 wasn't about simply stepping into something that had already been built for me, but about earning my place and finding my own way to contribute to it. My background in operations and leadership, combined with the hands-on experience I gained growing up around construction, gives me a unique perspective on where the company has been and where it can go. Today, I'm proud to work alongside my dad and help carry Scott Martin Homes into its next generation while staying true to the values I was raised on.
